Dear Editor:I write this letter with heartfelt thanks to our good friend and neighbor Pechanga. It was a fantastic day for the people of the Temecula Valley on Thursday, Nov. 15. Because of Pechanga, a community was saved from significant environmental impact that would have been imposed on us by one of the largest aggregate surface mines in the United States. Although I know it takes a village, I would like to thank those who I personally know that worked so hard to make it all happen. Thank you John Macarro, attorney for Pechanga, along with his brother Mark Macarro, and the entire council. Also, Kathy Hamilton and Susan Miyamoto who were relentless with their campaign and rallies, and to Betsy Lowrey, Management Analyst for the City of Temecula. Thank you Supervisor Jeff Stone for your support and to Aaron Adams, our actingCity Manager a big thank you for your support and all you do to make Temecula a beautiful place to live. This is truly a gift from Pechanga and just in time for Thanksgiving!Christine McCuskerTemecula
