Teams/athletes qualify for CIF state meet

The Division 1 boys race gets underway; Vista Murrietas Reddish (1369) and Great Oaks Lapham (566) try to lead their teams to the state meetnext week in Fresno.


Vista Murrieta Senior Porter Reddish (14:04) would finish thirdin the Division 1 boys race. The Broncos boys team finished secondoverall and qualified for the state meet.


Linfield Christian runner Jackie Crowther (720) finished fourth in the Division 5 race with a time of 17:32; she qualified for the state meet next weekend in Fresno.


Kiara McIntosh (902) of Paloma Valley qualified for the state meet by finishing second in the Division 1 girls race with a time of 16:28.


Ashley Helbig (#576) and Haley Dorris (#575) were the top runners for the Wolfpack finishing with the same time of 16:35 and placing seventh and eighth overall, Great Oaks girls won the Division 1 Championship with a score of 44 points.


Great Oaks Miranda Kewley (577) finished in the top 10 with a time of 16:39 followed by Temecula Valleys Angela Ziff (1255) who had a time of 17:02 and placed 24th.


Here are the results of athletes who qualified in the top 10 and team scores from the CIF Southern Section Divisional Finals held at Mt SAC this past weekend. (Note: * denotes Individual Qualifier for CIF State Championships; top five individuals not on qualifying teams also advance if they place in the top 20; top seven teams qualify for CIF State Championships). Great Oak Girls and Vista Murrieta Girls and Boys teams will advance. The state meet will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, at Woodward Park in Fresno. The top three teams and 10 individuals in each race will receive awards in all five divisions for both boys and girls.Division 1 GirlsIndividuals: 1. Sarah Baxter (Simi Valley) 15:53; 2.
